Initially, homeowner electrical repairs and new electrical construction were the primary services provided by PSCE. As his business grew, so did Rod’s construction ideas and talents. Not wanting to just be limited to the electric trade, he acquired his General Contractors licensing and then began building homes. Thus, adding specific building features to accent lighting and design for a custom appeal.
In 2005, Rod began buying homes and renovating to update their appearance and function. As seen in the homes at 1635 11th Court, Fox Island or 4232 Ray Nash Dr, Gig Harbor. He has also purchased raw land and then developed the 4200-block neighborhood of 100th Ave NW, consisting of 4315, 4316, 4402 100th Ave NW. He has also permitted and built an ADU (accessory dwelling unit) located at 10014 42nd St Ct NW, Gig Harbor. Rod enjoys designing custom homes for his clients as in the home at 1637 11th Court, Fox Island, but his design expertise and passion resides in remodeling. An example of this would be 10129 Cherry Lane, Gig Harbor.
Rod’s primary source of advertisement is through customer referral and recommendation, which keeps his business quite busy. Much of the work acquired is from repeat customer calls, either wanting new improvements or additions. He performs quite a few realtor based electrical service calls as well. Currently, Rod has a couple remodels, as well as a few ADU’s on his calendar.
In essence, Rod’s raw talent, experience, and a keen eye for customization have led him to a career and successful business he thoroughly enjoys.

Rod Trowbridge is a long time Gig Harbor resident. He grew up here in the “Harbor”, attending Goodman Middle School and Gig Harbor High School. His parents owned and operated a local electrical business, Trowbridge & Son’s Electric. Rod, being the oldest son, was immersed in all aspects of the construction field. After graduation, and following in his father’s footsteps; he attended Bates Technical College in Tacoma, WA, where he acquired his Electrical Administrators license, and in 1995, he opened Puget Sound Contracting & Electrical.
